Soul's Journey to Divine Harmony
AI Suggested Keywords:
Workshop_Zenith_Institute_Summer_Camp
The talk explores a transformative spiritual journey through four levels of understanding the self and the soul. It emphasizes the distinction between the individual who is forgetful and the soul, which perpetually sings love. The process progresses from self-awareness to sharing divine love with others, culminating in the realization of a continuous interplay between oneself and the divine. The session involves meditation and relaxation practices to deepen this awareness, ultimately aiming to bridge the gap between the mind and heart through an allegorical return to one's soul, paralleling ideas in Kabbalah and alchemical traditions.
Referenced Works and Concepts:
- Kabbalah: Discusses the concept of the "four worlds" which relate to the spiritual process of descending from vision to reality, resonating with the alchemical stages of transformation.
- The Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life (from the Bible): Used as metaphors to illustrate the duality of existence and the pursuit of unity in spirituality.
- Quantum Physics Concept: E = mc² is likened to spiritual teachings—how the material world is interwoven with divine energy.
- Alchemy: Suggested as an upcoming topic relating to transforming the infinite to the finite, which reflects in the spiritual journey described.
- Sufi Traditions: Implicit references to spiritual practices similar to those found in Sufism regarding the union of the self with the divine.

So I come to the third level of the song. And I don't have my notes here of the Sufi terminology for these different levels, but maybe... I hope it's okay without some of the labels. The third level, I realize it's not forgetful me singing to my soul. It is my soul that is singing to me. The beloved is in me and moves through me and expresses herself, himself through me. And I shouldn't really say at this point durch mich, through me, but really to me.
[01:21]
Okay, right now it's... Auch zu mir. It's my soul singing to me. Now that hasn't changed the fact that I'm still forgetful. And I can forget all I want to listen. But my soul never forgets. My heart is always singing to me. 24 hours a day. 365 days of the year. No commercial interruptions. Even on Yom Kippur, on Christmas, it plays constantly. My soul is singing love songs
[02:23]
It says, I love you. I care about you. I accept you as you are, unconditionally. Now, even for a brief time that I remember to listen to this song of my soul, during that time it's very healing to really let it in. And believe me, all the resistance in the world will be working to keep you from letting the message in. There's a part of you that doesn't want to hear that you're okay.
[03:51]
Doesn't want to hear how much you're loved. And so even while singing, our mind will wander will be a little tense or whatever it is that will say, I don't want to sit in the bath of this radiant love. I sit in the bath of this radiant love. To really let it in, as Atum would say, to go, ah. To really let it in, it's so hard.
[04:53]
And it's so easy. So we'll sing it for a while, really trying to let it in. And after a while of really, really letting this love, this surrounding embrace of my own soul, of the beloved within me, Then I move to the fourth level. And there I step out of the way.
[06:02]
So I'm not the recipient of the love from this beloved source within me. And now I can sing it to the other out there. Of my friends, of my teachers, of God. But now it's coming from the God within me. And however short it may be, it's from that place of infinite time of infinite love. And it is deeply healing for every individual and for the whole world.
[07:16]
And the beloved meets the beloved. And for this the world was created. For God to be known consciously. Nämlich dafür, dass Gott bewusst erlebt wird. Loved unboundedly. Grenzenlos geliebt wird. through every individual and to every individual. So you can't cheat and jump to the top two levels.
[08:22]
You have to do your work. So we'll sing it maybe two times for singing it out to others and think about people you want to send it to. And even on that simple level, it really, really does work. And they've done research now, I mean, medically proven research that praying for someone Thinking about someone can actually heal them. Can you believe it has been proven medically, scientifically, Makes you a little suspicious about prayer, doesn't it?
[09:33]
I mean, doctors have recommended so many things that... I shouldn't say it. And God has so many other things in Poland. [19:47]
This is the house, the house of the Lord I wish the best for you This is the house, the house of the Lord I wish the best for you Maybe you haven't had enough because we can never get enough of this. But there's an infinite supply. But the time comes to give it away to others, which only makes it possible for us to receive more ourselves. So to gently step aside, though you're not really stepping aside,
[20:51]
You've just turned the volume down. So that the soul and so God can really sing right through you. So that you can sing so that God can sing to everyone else. So you can sing to the other. You can sing to your teachers. And you can sing to God. To God. And from God's point of view, he will be in the middle, she will be in the middle of this exercise. And God will hear God's inner beloved singing to God's outer beloved. Because of my brothers and friends Because of my sisters and friends Please let me ask, please let me say Peace to you

Because of my brothers and friends Because of my sisters and friends Please let me ask, please let me say Peace to you This is the house, the house of the Lord I wish the best for you This is the house, the house of the Lord I wish the best for you Now let's really sing it to the whole world. So many places in the world and so many peoples in the world don't know how to sing to each other. Don't know how to sing to themselves.
[25:03]
Don't know how to listen to themselves. They don't know how to listen to each other. So we want to send them the deepest of healing from the depths of our hearts. and we're always good at seeing the other country that needs it but we need to see in our own country and in our own family but make sure it gets out to the whole world Because of my brothers and friends Because of my sisters and friends Please let me ask Please let me say Peace to you
[26:22]
Because of my brothers and friends Because of my sisters and friends Please let me ask, please let me say Peace to you Because of the house, the house of the Lord, I wish the best for you. This is the house, the house of the Lord, I wish the best for you. And this is the house of the Lord. You better start talking to each other. You better start talking to each other. You better start talking to each other. This is the house of the Lord.
[27:27]
You better start talking to each other and listening to each other. You know, what do our parents say when we're in somebody else's house? You know, you're in somebody else's house, behave yourself, you know, right? So we have to say this, we're in God's world, we're in God's house. How dare we act the way we do. Oh. because of my brothers and friends because of my sisters and friends please let me ask please let me say peace to you because of my brothers and friends because of my sisters and friends please let me ask please let me say
[28:49]
Peace to you This is the house, the house of the Lord I wish the best for [...] you Maybe while we're in such a peaceful space, perhaps we'll do a meditation.
[30:27]
Another way of Turning down the volume on your ego. And turning up the volume of your soul. So get comfortable. I don't know if this is comfortable. And I know you're all advanced meditators.
[31:29]
So we can move through this pretty quickly. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could blow our egos out the way we can blow our noses, you know, and just feel clear and our soul is just, you know, nothing in the way, you know. See, then when we sneeze, you could really say, God bless you. So we begin with just simple relaxation.
[32:35]
And I always learned that even something as simple as relaxation is very profound. because though often we learn you know relaxation so somebody says relax your feet and relax your legs But often we're doing it from our heads. So my spy looks at my feet and says, Okay, relax. Okay, they're relaxed. Relax the legs. Relax the legs. But we're doing it from our head.
[33:37]
Okay. So one of the important lessons in this form of meditation is to know I'm not thinking about these parts of my body. I'm sending my consciousness into that part. It's really there all the time, we just don't know it. But I'm really where I'm sending my consciousness into my feet. I'm not thinking about my feet from my head. It's as if I'm inside my feet.
[34:45]
So I really started thinking, what's it like being my feet? Imagine if I was inside my feet, living from inside my feet. you know we're so careful of protecting our head and be careful my head imagine we were that careful with our feet so really what's it like being my feet so we send our full consciousness into our feet and relax from within And the other thing about our consciousness, not just that we can send it anywhere, not just to your feet, you can send it around the world like we did when we were sinning. But also, once it's in my foot, I can expand it.
[35:54]
My consciousness isn't like a flashlight. So I can point it here and there's light there. But if I move it over here, now there's light here, but over there it's dark. But consciousness, I can just open it and open it and open it and open it. Consciousness is not something linear. So as we do this relaxation, we're really filling ourselves with our consciousness.
[36:57]
So we'll start with that and then I'll say some things as we go along to give you other things to think about, to feel about. Okay. So begin by just being comfortable. Begin damit einfach bequem zu sitzen. Be aware of your overall sense of comfort, of relaxation. Seid ihr eines allumfassenden Sinnes für wohlbehagen bewusst. And be aware of your breathing. Seid ihr deines Atems bewusst. This breath of life. And now, put your awareness, your consciousness into your feet.
[38:29]
What's it like being your feet? Letting go of any tension. Breathing deep and relaxed. And let your awareness still staying in your feet. But let it expand to your ankles. What's it like being your ankles? Letting go of any tension.
[39:31]
Or as much as you can. And let your awareness still in your feet. Expand up through your lower legs. Breathing deep and relaxed. And let your awareness continue to expand through your knees. What's it like being your knees? How often do we take the time to experience what it feels like inside? Letting go of as much tension as you can.
[40:37]
And let your awareness expand up to your upper legs. Still continue. connected to your feet continuous flow of awareness all the way up to your upper legs what's it like being your upper legs? And let your awareness continue on up through your hips. Breathing deep and relaxed, letting go of any tension you can. And let your awareness continue on up to your lower back.
[41:51]
What's it like being your lower back? Lift that spine like Richard taught us, like Baker Oshie taught us. Breathing deep and relaxed. And let your awareness continue to expand through your stomach. The whole area of the abdomen. letting go of any tension. Breathing deep and relaxed.
[42:53]
Make sure you're still connected to your feet. This continuous flow of consciousness. You might imagine it as light, or as warmth, or a tingling sensation, And let your awareness expand to your upper back. And to your chest. Letting go of any tension. Breathing deep and relaxed. This is a wonderful place to take a deep sigh.
[44:09]
Ah. What's it like being your upper back? What's it like being your chest? How much tension do you carry? Try and let it go. Sigh it out. And let your awareness continue on up through your shoulders. And flowing down your arms through your upper arms. And down through your elbows. And down through your lower arms. And your wrists. And through your hands and fingers. What's it like being your arms?
[45:29]
Are they tense? Are they tired? Are they energized? Are they tired from pushing people away? or energized from reaching out to others? What's it like being your arms? breathing deep and relaxed, feeling the connection of your awareness from your feet, and from your hands, flowing up through your whole body, And let your awareness move on up from your shoulders to your neck.
[46:42]
Your lips. Breathing deep and relaxed. What's it like being your mouth? Is it frowning too much? Is it smiling too much? Talking too much? or not saying the things you really want to say. And let your awareness move on up to your nose, and through your cheeks, and through your ears, Letting go of any tension.
[47:56]
What's it like being your ears? Listening to more than you need to hear? Or straining to hear something that you haven't yet heard? Or filled with the sounds of life all around? And let your awareness continue to your eyes. Letting go of any tension. What's it like being your eyes? Do you only see concepts?
[49:20]
Or do you see what's really there? And let your awareness expand on up through your eyebrows and your forehead. And from your forehead to the top of your head. and to the crown sitting just above your head. Feel your awareness from the tips of your toes, from the tips of your fingers, All the way up to the very top of your head.
[50:30]
What's it like feeling, being yourself? Turning on a light within you like a neon light. How rarely do we sit and experience ourselves? And be aware of all the sensations that are happening all around you Sensations of light and dark. Of warm and cool. of wet and dry, of hard and soft, tight and loose.
[51:57]
So many sensations in our bodies happening all the time. Sensations of sound and silence. There's sensations of balance. There's a sensation for how high off the ground your head is. There are sensations for the position the parts of your body are in. There's a sensation for the distance from the back of your head to your forehead.
[53:03]
Have you ever thought about the sensation of the distance between your two ears? Breathing deep and relaxed. Just feel all these sensations. The symphony of life. and the consciousness that holds it all.
[54:06]
Be aware of the sensation of gravity. Feel your weight on the floor or in the chair. Gravity pulling you down. It's a sensation that's always with us. whether we're standing and we feel it in our feet, or sitting or lying down. Gravity is always pulling us down because we have weight. We're solid. We're made of matter. Feel your matterness.
[55:23]
And yet we know from chemistry and physics that all matter is made up of molecules which are made up of atoms which are made up of subatomic particles Did it ever occur to you that there's more of you that isn't than there is that is? Can you feel your nothingness?
[56:24]
Can you feel your spaciousness? Can you let go of the way that your mind works? holds you together conceptually? Can you focus on your spaciousness? Can you feel the wind blowing slightly through you? Can you feel the light shining through you? Can you feel the light shining through you? And you feel like the leaves of a tree blowing in the wind and shimmering in the sun.
[58:01]
whether you feel it or just imagine it, as spacious as it may feel, it's very dense, very thick and heavy, compared to an even greater spaciousness within it. And even that sense of spaciousness, of vastness, is still very confined and very compact.
[59:25]
It's very much like matter, compared to a vast infinite spaciousness within it. Worlds within worlds within worlds. You aren't just your matter.
[61:14]
You aren't just this spaciousness, but a dance between the two. A song made up of silence and sound. A dance between stillness and movement. And in the way that the ocean waves.
[62:21]
And in the way that a cloud rains. And so wie eine Wolke regnet. See if you can get a sense of your nothingness mattering. Feel that process from the infinite spacious. Coming down into this sense of the material, of the matter.
[63:23]
Energie into matter. Energie into matter. Godliness into the individual focus. Continuous flow from the one to the other. All one. And gradually bring yourself back without letting go of your expansiveness.
[64:40]
Return again, return again, return to the land of your soul. Return again, return again Return to the land of your soul Return to what you are Return to whom you are Return to where you are, born and reborn again. Return to what you are, return to who you are. Return to where you are, born and reborn again.
[66:02]
Return again, return again, return to the land of your soul. Return again, return again Return to the land of your soul Return to what you are Return to who you are Return to where you are Born and reborn again. Return to what you are. Return to who you are. Return to where you are. Born and reborn again. Return to the land of your soul.
[67:05]
Return again, return again, return to the land of your soul. Return to what you are. Return to who you are. Return to where you are. Born and reborn again. Return again. Return again. Return to the land of Who was singing to whom? Wer hat jetzt an wen gesungen? Was that you singing to your soul?
[68:39]
Was it your soul singing to you? Was it you calling others back to their soul? Was it God calling us all back? Calling us all forward? Perhaps we should take a a break. Walk slowly. Talk slowly. Don't lose touch with yourself and one another. Let's come back at a quarter of 20 minutes.
[70:03]
Did that work last time or did it turn out to be half an hour? Let's try for 20 minutes. What do you need? Okay, we'll try for a quarter of. Okay. um um Ay la [...] la...
[71:20]
Ay la [...] la... I know [...] Ay la [...] la... Ay la [...]
[73:06]
I know [...] Ay la [...] la... La la [...]
[74:26]
la [...] Ay la [...] La la [...] Ay lai lai, lai [...]
[75:38]
Ay la [...] la... Ay, la, [...] la. I'd like to try to answer a little bit this question of the mind and the heart.
[77:15]
And again, you know, the... And again, this journey from ego to soul. And in a sense what we were doing in this meditation of seeing how this infinite, vast, spacious, infinite one comes down into this finite world of ours. As I said most people today don't have a problem with physics.
[78:20]
We have all agreed to the trans of the physical way of describing the universe. So when the holy man of our scientific world, Herr Doktor Professor, you know, says that energy equals MC squared, We don't have a problem in saying
[79:23]
It's true. Every material thing is made up of energy. But when the holy teachers from the other trans, of the spiritually constructed world, say that everything is filled with God, people, yeah, The cow agrees.
[80:59]
Isn't that some term in physics, as well as, I think, in Sufi, the moo? Isn't that some cosmic, you know... Yeah, isn't it some symbol of something? I forgot what, anyway. It's in Buddhism. OK. Or moo. OK. OK. As much as the physicist knows that energy comes down into matter, but the physicist still doesn't know how.
[82:14]
And how does some energy come down and become hydrogen? And some becomes helium. Hydrogen, water, oxygen. How does something come down in the shape of wood and trees? And something as stone. And something in fire. So the same questions remain.
[83:36]
How does energy become matter? How does the infinite become finite? How does the beloved become the beloved? The cow says, who cares? The cow says, shut up and sing. I will in a while.
[84:37]
Very insistent teacher. It'll never be the same. You always say the same thing. Let me give a few little pieces here and there that maybe will make it easier.
[86:23]
I don't want to get caught up in my head again. But I don't want to create that separation of head and heart. I want to keep them together. And I think some of this I may have spoken about a little bit last year, so forgive me if I repeat myself. There are two different ways that we can give expression to ourselves.
[87:34]
At the very beginning of the Bible, of the Torah, we have the story of the Garden of Eden. And there is a tree of knowledge, the knowledge of good and evil, and the tree of life. And we all know the story, we get tempted to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. And we enter into duality. Because this is the tree of duality, knowledge of opposites. And from the moment we eat from that tree, Everything appears linear.
[88:52]
Everything is in terms of opposites. Duality. Mind, heart. Ego, soul. Good, bad. Life, death. But just below the surface of that part of us that's constantly spying and looking and comparing, is our infinite eternal soul, the beloved within, the tree of life that holds everything together as one.
[89:56]
But the volume on the tree of knowledge is so loud And it's so hard to find even where the knob is to turn it down. And to find the knob of the tree of life to turn it up. so that we're very often talking about things in their opposites. So I'd like to find some ways to bring these two trees back together.
[91:08]
There are many teachings found in a lot of the different world traditions, trying to explain how the infinite becomes finite. They are the foundation of modern science. And I hope we hear from Atum when he teaches us about alchemy. We'll also hear about that connection. And when Atum will teach us about alchemy, I think we will also hear a lot about this connection. Because we have in many of the systems the idea that there are four stages that the infinite goes through in becoming finite.
[92:29]
It goes from the etheric or the air and into fire and into water and into mineral, into rock and so on. And I don't know how you're going to do it in your session, but to even start to get into it, it's very complicated. I'm sure Atum can do it in a way that it isn't complicated, because he just, you know. In Kabbalah, we talk about the four worlds. And we see how things come down through this upper world of vision and down into blueprint and down into construction and down into reality.
[93:56]
And we see that as the air or fire, sometimes the order changes into the water element, into the earth element, in various ways of describing this process of
